Biography
A DMD98 alumni from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Gr. T Popa UMF in Iasi, Dr. Maria (Stan) Dona continued as an Instructor in the Department of Periodontology under the leadership of Dr. Liviu Zetu at her Alma Mater and completed a residency in General Dentistry in 2002. Dr. Dona moved to the United States to continue her dental training, after earning a full PhD scholarship at Boston University. She earned her Master of Science degree in Oral Biology from BU in 2005. Dr. Dona continued her training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she completed a combined program with a Certificate for graduate training in Periodontology and Implantology, and Doctor of Medical Science in Oral Biology Degree. She earned her American DMD degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2012 and she purchased her current office, Andover Periodontics, a practice limited to Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, soon after graduation. Dr. Dona is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and currently is the Immediate past Chair of the local Merrimack Valley Dental District, part of the Massachusetts Dental Society. She is an active member of several professional associations including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Harvard Odontological Society, American Academy of Dental Sciences. She has published several research articles in peer-reviewed Journals, was the co-author of 2 chapters in the ”Clinical Cases in Periodontics” book and presented in US and Romania.
