Patients’ expectations nowadays have changed, they have become more focused on esthetic outcome, as well as paying more attention to details.
A beautiful smile and a correct occlusion without improving facial features are not satisfying our patients’ demands anymore. If a skeletal malocclusion is diagnosed, a complete treatment plan must address it.
The ortho-surgical treatment becomes more complicated when teeth are affected, have an incorrect aspect or are absent, cases in which a multidisciplinary approach is required. The prosthodontist becomes the coordinator of the team by creating clear guidelines for the orthodontic and surgical treatment, through a prediction of the final result.
This presentation will be looking at the treatment sequence followed in our clinic for patients with skeletal malocclusions, where the orthodontist-surgeon-prosthodontists team is involved from beginning to end.
